Fun Activities to Help with Reading Skills

Free printable worksheets are a great way to encourage your new reader. Once the alphabet letters and their sounds are learned, your child will be able to move on to reading.

Along with teaching the sight words and word families, use the following activities to reinforce what has already been learned.

Using simple worksheets and activities will help give children the self-confidence necessary to move forward with the task of learning to read. While the process takes time (be patient with little learners), short teachable moments will have them reading well and at their own pace.

NOTE: All of the printables are intended for personal non-commercial use only.  Daycare providers, teachers and parents are welcome to print in quantity as needed. Any questions:  please see my Terms of Use.

Just click on the worksheet of your choice to be taken to the page of PDF files. You’ll need to have Adobe installed on your computer to see and print the files. If you don’t have it, you can get it free at get.adobe.com/reader/
